You may be surprised to learn that a light roast has the most caffeine. Most people seem to think the darker a coffee is the more caffeine it has, however the longer you roast coffee the more caffeine you lose.

How much coffee should I use?

The specialty coffee association refers to what they call the Golden Cup Standard. The easiest way to accomplish what they recommend is to use a 19:1 ratio. In other words 19 grams of water for every gram of coffee, or 19 oz of water for ever oz of coffee. However, I believe this is a starting point. You like what you like right? Make it stronger or weaker for your own personal taste.
